About Senso Eskwela Pilipinas (SEP)

Senso Eskwela Pilipinas (SEP) is a DOST- PCIEERD funded web-based application that aims to promote statistical literacy in Filipino students from grades 1 to 11. It is adapted from an international project hosted in different countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. SEP is an online repository for gathering, storing, and retrieving authentic data that can be used for statistics teaching and learning.

Under the guidance of the teacher, students are tasked to accomplish an online survey. Their responses will then become part of the SEP database that can be accessed for use in different activities for statistical learning. Through this platform, authentic, relevant, and relatable data are made available to teachers and students. Teachers and students can access their own class data. Moreover, any user (including guests who do not need to register an account) can download a random sample from the SEP database.

SEP can be accessed at http://mathplusresources.com

Ideas from Teachers

During the launch of SEP in the even Senso Eskwela at iba pa held last 24-25 September 2020, the 2nd day was mainly dedicated to the integration of SEP and other MathPlus apps into the classroom, especially in the online setting.

For the SEP, guest teachers Mrs. Mary Rose E. Villanda from Pleasant Hills Elementary School SDO-Mandaluyong, Mr. Reynaldo Casero Collado Jr. from Highways Hills Integrated School SDO-Mandaluyong, and Mr. Danilo R. Si from the Ateneo Senior High School shared their valuable insights for integrating SEP into classes for the grade school, junior high school, and senior high school, respectively.

The recoding of the event can be viewed in its entirety in the Ateneo de Manila University School of Science and Engineering (ADMU SOSE) Facebook page.
